I hope this year was successful and memorable and that next one would be even better.

I’m studying in Estonia, but I’m actually from Republic of Moldova. It can get really gloomy here and therefore I like to wear colourful clothes. My style icons are Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lopez, because they have very feminine and very distinct styles. My style is also very feminine; I love wearing dresses.

I buy most of my clothes from internet shops. My favourite labels are Burberry and Vivienne Westwood. Currently I’m longing for one asymmetric jacket by Westwood. I like men who take care of themselves and have a good style sense. Men should put more effort into their style and not depend on girlfriends and mothers, who buy them clothes. Therefore very often gay men look a lot better, because they take care of their appearance.

I’m currently living in London and I shop a lot there. My favourite places to shop are Harvey Nichols and shops in Chelsea and King’s Road. I prefer clothes that are more expensive and have a better quality. I’m really against cheap labour plus clothes with better quality last longer. I have friends who have huge wardrobes filled with clothes from shops like H&M and Topshop, yet they never find anything to wear. In the same time I have fewer classic pieces which always work.

I’m very practical; I would never spend like 2000 kroons on scarf. My favourite colour is black, because it is very powerful colour and it suits almost any occasion. I sometimes browse fashion magazines, but it is more just for fun not in order to get new ideas. I have my own personal style and no trend will change that. In Estonia I think Beatrice has a great style.

I think my friends are extremely stylish and it makes me want to be well-dressed 24/7 too. Music and especially electro also inspires. As winters tend to be quite gloomy, people should wear more colourful clothes. Today I’m wearing quite a lot from Zara, but I like to shop abroad for more options.

Maali and Minna,
Viru str, Tallinn

Maali: I like colourful and alternative clothes; you can get such things from second-hands or you can make them yourself. Minna made me this hat. At the moment I’m really fond of A-line dresses.
Minna: I care more about whether clothes are comfortable or not. I don’t my style changes very often, I just try to update my wardrobe and develop my personal style.

I’m obviously into punk and I like to see what other people with similar style wear. You can adapt many ideas and improve them. I think it is very important to remain yourself and wear whatever makes you happy and content. Too many people are label-obsessed and think that wearing Armani or Boss makes you stylish. I like to customize my clothes to make them my own.

My moods affect how I dress. I don’t have one style, but change it every morning. As I grow, of course, my wardrobe gets more mature and it may also affect my style. In Estonia many people copy famous people just because they don’t trust their own style sense. People are too afraid of what other people may think.

PLEASE GO AND VOTE FOR TALLINN!

We are in the final four and therefore so close to winning. I'd be very thankful if you could go and give us 5 ;) Thank you!!

Hi!

Sorry that I haven't been updating so often as before, but bad weather has been taking its toll on Estonian street style. Too much mud, rain and snow aren't the best option for cool clothes.
Anyway, this week I went to Cambridge, England and took some pictures there. I hope you'll enjoy! Rain seems to follow me, so I couldn't take as many pictures I wanted there too.
Thank you for voting at Street Clash. We are doing really well. If we win, we'll be in the final round!

Bye,
Ave

Ellie,
Cambridge, England

I shop at second-hands and charity shops. The best ones in Cambridge are near Grafton Centre My favourite is Oxfam, which has a great bridal section. Every time I go there, I need to remind myself that I don’t need a wedding gown. I’m also a big fan of street style and blogs. I also read Just Glitter Lust. I like street style, because it is more real.

Laura,
Cambridge, England

I’m a dancer so I wear whatever is comfortable and keeps me warm. My recent favourites are also Doc Martens. I rarely shop here in Cambridge. I really like London’s and Bristol’s fashion because everyone is going for their own look. One thing I absolutely dislike about British style is that everyone is wearing jeans all the time.

Tom,
Cambridge, England

I like the Sixties’ style and especially British style at that era. The current nu-rave trend is shit, because it ain’t rave or house and therefore is a pointless concept. Cambridge has many charity shops and I usually shop there. Ideas and inspiration comes from nu-wave French films from the 50’s and 60’s.

I hate clothes with logos and it is awful to see people with D&G or Cavalli written everywhere. The most important aspect of good clothing is a good shape. If cut is bad, you will look bad. I think pop culture as a whole can be very inspiring and innovative.
For my everyday clothes, I shop at Topman or H&M.

I have a passion for value. This coat comes from Asda, but if you are good at combining it with other things, no-one will understand. My mother got it from me and now tries to nick it. She has a great taste. My favourite colour is grey, but I like to have some splashes of colour. I’m a big fan of students’ style, because it is more wearable. Fashion mags usually promote clothes that look good only on stick-thin models.
